Recipe: Golden Turmeric Latte (Haldi Milk)
CeylonBlends Editorial··⏱ 3 minrecipelatteturmericwellnessdrinksgolden-milk

Golden milk is Ayurveda's original wellness drink — made properly, with black pepper, it's also genuinely delicious.
Golden milk — haldi doodh in Hindi — is one of the oldest wellness preparations in South Asian tradition. Modern science has validated much of its traditional reasoning: the combination of turmeric with black pepper dramatically increases curcumin absorption, while cinnamon adds blood-sugar-stabilising benefits. Made well, it is also genuinely delicious: warm, creamy, and comforting.
Serves: 1 | Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 250 ml milk (whole dairy milk, oat milk, or coconut milk all work well)
- ½ tsp CeylonBlends Turmeric Powder
- ¼ tsp CeylonBlends Cinnamon Powder
- ⅛ tsp CeylonBlends Black Pepper Powder (do not skip — this unlocks curcumin bioavailability)
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
- Optional: pinch of ginger powder, tiny pinch of cardamom
Instructions
- Combine all spices in a small mug or cup and stir to mix.
- Heat milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming (do not boil). Alternatively, microwave for 90 seconds.
- Pour hot milk over the spices, whisking or stirring vigorously to fully incorporate.
- Stir in honey to taste. Drink immediately while hot.
For a frothier result, use a milk frother or blend in a high-powered blender for 30 seconds. The black pepper is essential — without it, very little curcumin is absorbed.
